There are some things that at some point we, as a people, as a Nation we simply must face. There are two things I can think of real quick that need addressing and right now. You see my friends that we have a problem, one that our present system simply cannot deal with. The reason it cannot deal with our problems is our system is the problem.

We have allowed both parties to abuse, misuse and profit from our ignorance of the Constitution and the way the Republic was constructed to work. Because we have been lead to believe we need the Government to get us through our every day life, our very basic needs, when in fact they cannot even operate their own House on a daily basis.

We have been lead to a system of dependence upon people, who in reality, care only for their chances to be reelected to the Office they hold. We are going broke and we are going broke at a rate that even at my age I could see the fall of this Country within my lifetime.

Unlike a Politician I am not going to tell you what we need is a bi-partisan panel, or bill or summit to fix this problem, because I don’t believe that it will actually do any good. Because at the end of the day they are all foxes guarding the hen-house. Oh, they might find some way to “fix” things but it, like all the other “fixes” will be temporary.

The amount of debt we are mounting in this Country is about to sink us as a Nation. One wonders why a body of men who swear to uphold the Constitution could, with clear conscience, could allow us to get to this point. Fact is, they don’t care because they got theirs. What these people have done over the years is unconscionable, the outright fraud that is sending us down a hole we don’t deserve needs to be addressed.

Social Spending in this Country is taking on a larger percentage of the GDP that we simply cannot cover. The Republic was never designed to cover this sort of intervention into the social fabric of its people. But they talked us into it.

Social Security, while it has its value, or at least did, is simply unsupportable without tax hikes that will kill the average American worker. I have the answer to this problem. It will be both hard and expensive, but the only answer that will continue to work long after most of us are gone.

I believe in contracts, so this contract must be honored. Every person born in this Country as of the year 1996, will pay no Social Security Tax. In turn they will receive no Social Security when it is time for them to retire. An increase in impost or other none invasive taxes will have to be implemented to cover the cost until the last person to receive Social Security is gone.

Our problem with Social Security isn’t we need more, it’s that we need less, or more properly none at all. The Republic was never designed to control the retirement of its people. Before you say it’s cruel, the first 10% of everyone’s income is tax-free so that they can bank the money for retirement. Allow people to be responsible for their own lives, what a concept.

If I understand the numbers properly in just Medicare and Social Security we will reach 114% of the GDP by 2019. Is there anyone who thinks that is reasonable or responsible to doom a way of life, the life of a Nation, because of the charmers who think you aren’t smart enough to be responsible for your own life?

How much money is wasted by people who run to the ER because they have a runny nose. Skin your knee?, run to the ER. In my day we put iodine on it. Stung like all get out, but we all lived. I know that some people get sick, things go wrong and all hell breaks loose. But you are asking the majority to be responsible for the minority of the population.

You are asking the entire Country to go broke and collapse, destroy the last best hope for the World, because of the few. Only a liberal would think that makes sense.

What is really needed is a return to Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution. No doubt it would be hard and painful for some. No doubt it would require a sacrifice of many. But we are, or use to be a Nation that knew how to sacrifice, how to do without or at least make do. We owe China and Japan more than $1.5 trillion dollars. How much longer are we going to ignore the problem, ignore that we are living in excess, ignoring that we are no longer the Nation we once were. Because we value our comfort more than our Country.

Think about that when 2010 comes and the local Politicians tell you how they have brought home the political bacon. Because the only way the Federal Government can give you something, is to take it from someone else.

Let me see if I have this right. It took 6 month’s to pick out a family dog. It’s taking, so far, over 2 months to pick a way to combat the Taliban, and counting. It took 6 seconds to ignore the American People and try and shove the Government Options down their throats.

I feel it necessary to repeat something I said a little while ago; Either General McChrystal has the confidence of the Commander-in-Chief or he doesn’t. Either the President, who has zero military experience, takes the advice of his General, his Defense Secretary Gates agree with this 40,000 extra troops, or he should fire them both. Why is the CinC hesitating?

I have to say that this Administration has an even worse time with making the tough choices than either the Carter or Clinton Administrations had. I mean really, the answer to more jobs lost is have a talk about it? $758 billion in stimulus spending did nothing, so we should talk about it? While what happens, even more people become unemployed?

How about we try something that actually worked? The last time, or more correctly the last 2 times, we had this kind of problem what did we do? Reagan and Bush II, both lowered taxes, in Reagan’s case tried to limit spending and restricted the amount of money the Federal Reserve could print.

What about this Muslim idiot that sat around in the Army, talking to a radical imam Anwar al-Awlaki and this Administration can’t call the shootings at Ft. Hood what they most certainly must be, a Terrorist Act?

This President is about as good at making the tough choices as he was in taking a “firm” stand on using public election funding, until it was to his benefit to not use it. It is a crime that the national media was so in the tank for this President that they refused to point that out to people. It really comes down to what I said about him when he first threw his hat into the ring for President, based upon what experience? As we see, he had none, and we know sit and wait, troops fight and die, more than might otherwise, if this President had at least some experience.

We Didn’t Start The Fire:

The GOP is encouraging members to hold more Town Hall Meetings to keep the fire alive against the Socialization of our Medical System. This, as well as, writing your Senators is the best way to let them know you are against them, if they are for this.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a really, really bad idea. No matter what the charmers say, I have lived in places that have socialized medicine. I haven’t come across a majority that likes the care they get. Can ours be better? Perhaps, but NOT at the expense of becoming like other Countries that have crappola for health care.

In the opinion of the Founders, nothing, let’s repeat that, nothing is made better by stealing the bread from one man’s labor to provide bread to another man who refuses to labor. Let us not make the mistake of allowing the Government to establish tyranny under the guise of helping us.

Everything the Federal does is a usurpation of someone’s personal or a State’s power and/or freedom. Article 1, Section 8 very clearly tells us what the Federal Government has the power to do. While there is some wiggle room, because the Founders were smart enough to know things would change over time, they also left a way to make those changes. Major changes, knee jerk reaction and mass hysteria are controlled by the need to follow Article 1, Section 8 and if the change is actually needed you can Amend the Constitution.

This is how you stop tyranny and Government over-reach. Which is why Politicians refuse to use it and take the easy way and hope they can pass a law, Constitutional or not, and just hope no one contest it. What if they do? The USSC gave up standing for the Constitution years ago. FDR beat them into submission and even with the more conservative leaning of the Court today, the Constitution is still a “living and breathing” piece of paper to them that they can mold at their whim.

My friends, at some point we, as American’s, are just going to have to remember that at a point in our history we took care of our own selves. President Reagan tried to remind us that Government isn’t the answer, it’s the problem.

Last week a Muslim solider in the US Army struck down 42 individuals at Ft. Hood, Tx. 13 were killed the rest wounded. Let me repeat that it was LAST week that this happened.

President Bush and his wife, without camera’s, fanfare or reporters went to Ft Hood to console victims of this tragedy. President Obama was nowhere to be seen.

Yesterday however, with camera’s all focusing on the Service for the wounded and killed, the President had no problem jumping in front of the camera for the better photo-op.

It seems to me that the President was more concerned into coercing the House into passing his take over of the health care industry, than he was with the tragedy at Ft. Hood.

Health Scare:

The trip through the Senate doesn’t look as if it will be a cake walk either. This bill just got through and did so only after granting favors that won the last couple of votes. This is not 90% of American’s wanting change my friends, this is a close call that the American’s do not want, but the Leadership of the House shoved off on the American people.

The Senate already has a number of problems and individual concerns to deride the bill and keep it off the floor. Sen. Ben Nelson is concerned about the abortion clause being removed. Sen. Lieberman and many other Democrats are totally against the Government Option and will vote against any bill that contains it.

The Dems in the House refused to listen to any of the GOP’s suggestions, I feel the Senate will be the same way. This means that any bill passed will be so watered down that it will never reach compromise in the joint process between the House and Senate. The GOP will take the flack for the bill, but it will in actuality be the Dems who feared more for their seats than they did about following their leader.

Checkmate.

She’s Over And Dunn:

Anita Dunn, the White House Communication Director, who had a blood feud with the Fox News Corp. has stepped down from her position. The Administration is spinning this as something they knew would happen and she was always just temporary. Maybe like Van Jones was temporary.

I find it odd that this comes right after the Election flub. On the bright side it gained Fox News a 9% uptick in viewership. Maybe they should send her a box of chocolate.

Save The Best For Last:

Today is 11 November, a day set aside to honor and remember those who serve and have served in our Nation’s Uniformed Service. Those who stand on the wall and guard all of us from harm.

There is not a one of us that do not owe each and every one of them our love and respect for what they have and continue to do for our Nation.

God Bless you all.

The President, despite strong opposition to his featured presentation, health care, is trying to push Congress into action to “finish the job”, as he puts it. The level of health care hasn’t changed, or the number without health care hasn’t changed in 3 decades or more. Why is it such a crisis today? Why can’t the people see the final bill that is being voted on 72 hours in advance of the vote as was promised?

Thus far the vote is a bit iffy at best. Many Democrats, coming from fairly moderate districts are rightfully worried about their seats, many because they know their people aren’t in line with this take over of the health care system. Since when is it OK for the Federal Government to not only go way beyond the Constitution but to ignore the 80+% of the population that thinks their health care is just fine?

When does it become tyranny to mandate participation in a health care system to the point of levying a fine or jail time if they don’t wish to participate? Don’t you think it’s bad enough that they force you, unconstitutionally force you to participate in a retirement program that only gives you a return of 1% of your donation?

And what about this “vote for it now and we’ll fix it later”? Does the President think we are really that stupid? Would you sign for a loan, (since that is what will be paying for this), without knowing the price? Sign up for this now and we’ll work out the details later. I promise you’ll like it.

Do you know so of the provisions of this bill? Let’s try some of them on for size.

• Sec. 202 (p. 91-92) of the bill requires you to enroll in a “qualified plan.” If you get your insurance at work, your employer will have a “grace period” to switch you to a “qualified plan,” meaning a plan designed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. If you buy your own insurance, there’s no grace period. You’ll have to enroll in a qualified plan as soon as any term in your contract changes, such as the co-pay, deductible or benefit.

Who decides what a qualified plan? As you see later they haven’t even decided what a “qualified plan” is. But don’t worry, “we promise you will like it”.

• Sec. 59b (pp. 297-299) says that when you file your taxes, you must include proof that you are in a qualified plan. If not, you will be fined thousands of dollars. Illegal immigrants are exempt from this requirement.

Did you know that the Government expects to collect millions in fines to off-set the cost of the program, but it will do little in that regard. The $1.2 trillion is a debt we can ill afford and is more than likely, given past experience, about one-third what the actual cost will be.

• Sec. 303 (pp. 167-168) makes it clear that, although the “qualified plan” is not yet designed, it will be of the “one size fits all” variety. The bill claims to offer choice—basic, enhanced and premium levels—but the benefits are the same. Only the co-pays and deductibles differ. You will have to enroll in the same plan, whether the government is paying for it or you and your employer are footing the bill.

Is there ANY “one size fit all” plans do you know works in any free market system? I know my readers and I also know they are smart enough to know the answer to that. Read this WSJ Article and see more of what this bill portends to impose upon the “free” people of America.

Th. Jefferson said “Delay is preferable to error”. The ONLY reason for haste is to sneak the actual contents of the bill pass the unsuspecting and trusting people of the United States. Tyranny IS NOT a reasonable response to a problem.

If this passes we will see, in our lifetime a tyrannical expansion of Government power that we will most certainly regret for decades to come. And then it will be over because we, as a Nation, will be no more.

It’s not just Americans that are addictive as a people. It seems to me that all people are addictive to one thing or another. I am going to focus most on Americans, since I am one.

Many Americans are addicted to drugs, alcohol, sex, food and smoking. Some of these are deadly of course. Too much of these items can cause people to have major health problems. Some things are more of an individual problem but an addiction none the less.

Some have problems with cell phones, computers, thrills, instant gratification, money or the spending of it and according to the Government oil.

I say that not a one of these addictions is even a pimple on a bugs butt compared to the worse addiction Americans have come to hold true and dear to their hearts. While the others listed above, and there are others to be sure, the effects of those addictions is mostly limited, considering the number of people in this Country.

The addiction that has crippled not only the individual but the Country at large is the addiction to Government Entitlements. Can you think of any single thing that has hampered the growth of the economy or the individual more than the handing out of “others people” money to those who refuse to work or fend for their selves?

There is nothing in the Constitution that says one of the enumerated powers of the Federal Government is to hand out yours and my hard-earned money to someone who feels they are entitled to something just because they live here in the good old US of A.

Another addiction that seems to have effected the majority of the population is Party Addiction. My Party right or wrong is simply no way to run a Country, not effectively. Some say that the reason that the GOP lost the last couple of elections was because they moved too far right. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

The GOP lost the last couple of elections because they forgot why the were elected and given the majority in the first place back in ‘94. To spend less and reduce the size and hammer hand of Government on the individual. People do not want the Government in their backyard, back pocket or their back bedroom. They wanted the overall size of Government to be scaled back.

At first, they did, while a Democrat was in Office. Once a Republican was in the big house it was full steam ahead. While spending was not on the scale as this present Administration, it was enough to lose the base support. No use electing a Republican to act like a Democrat when you can hire a Democrat to do the job.

Until Republicans return to being the Party of smaller Government, better ideas and less involvement in private lives, they will remain in the minority. In other words STOP trying to appease the middle. They are fickle and the reason they are in the middle is because they don’t have the grapes to take a principled stand.

Democrats don’t have to worry about taking a principled stance since they just try and appease as many minority groups as they can to secure their office. They do this mostly by infringing upon the majority and by stealing their hard-earned money. The largest part of the Democrats base is just looking to have what you earned. We can only stop giving it to them and teach them to fend for their own self.

Politicians love attention, love the spotlight, except by the ethics committee. Close to half of the members of a house panel that control spending at the Pentagon are under scrutiny by the House Ethics Committee. Rep. John Murtha’s panel is chairman of the appropriations subcommittee on defense, along with 6 other members are under investigation by 2 different ethic’s panels.

Also under scrutiny are Reps. Peter Visclosky, D-Ind., and James Moran, D-Va. The investigation was revealed when a low level staffer shared the info with another staffer while working at home on a common access web site. He has been fired.

In other investigations, I mean News, 2 California Reps are also investigation. Rep. Maxine Walters is under investigation for allegedly steering a committee towards lending the Bank her husband is a stock holder. Rep. Laura Richardson received a sweetheart deal on a loan and failed to acknowledge that on her financial disclosure forms.

Still nothing on Rep. Charlie Rangel and his tax fraud investigation.

All the misinformation worth talking about:

I’m always concerned when Politicians seem to have special knowledge right at their fingertips. Generally, to me, that means it is something made up on the spot. Take these examples.

–”I’m very pleased that (Democratic leaders) will be talking, too, about the immoral profits being made by the insurance industry and how those profits have increased in the Bush years.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who also welcomed the attention being drawn to insurers’ “obscene profits.”

–”Keeping the status quo may be what the insurance industry wants. Their premiums have more than doubled in the last decade and their profits have skyrocketed.” Maryland Rep. Chris Van Hollen, member of the Democratic leadership.

Except neither statement is true. This is nothing but fear mongering. The facts are this: Health insurance profit margins typically run about 6 percent, give or take a point or two.

–”Health insurance companies are willing to let the bodies pile up as long as their profits are safe.” A MoveOn.org ad.

False again. Profits barely exceeded 2 percent of revenues in the latest annual measure. This partly explains why the credit ratings of some of the largest insurers were downgraded to negative from stable heading into this year.

I promise that when this health care passes, if it passes, the rating will go down even more.

The vilifying of insurance companies is just a gimmick, a ploy to get Americans behind a bad idea. Health insurers posted a 2.2 percent profit margin last year, placing them 35th on the Fortune 500 list of top industries. And HealthSpring, the best performer in the health insurance industry, posted 5.4 percent. That’s a less profitable margin than was achieved by the makers of Tupperware, Clorox bleach and Molson and Coors beers.

The other nonsense sounded about is that this is Bush’s fault. He allowed the special interest groups to dictate policy to spur their “obscene” profits.

The truth: Judging by profit margins, profit growth or returns to shareholders. The industry’s overall profits grew only 8.8 percent from 2003 to 2008, and its margins year to year, from 2005 forward, never cracked 8 percent.

The latest annual profit margins of a selection of products, services and industries: Tupperware Brands, 7.5 percent; Yahoo, 5.9 percent; Hershey, 6.1 percent; Clorox, 8.7 percent; Molson Coors Brewing, 8.1 percent; construction and farm machinery, 5 percent; Yum Brands (think KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell), 8.5 percent.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think those guys are going to need a bailout by the Fed.

Climate (un)Change:

All the noise over what is now called climate change, upgraded from global cooling and global warming, seems to be cooling off. That is because for the past 2 years the earth has been cooling. Hard liners say that 2 years mean nothing and global warming is real, but think again. Because what makes this important is that the computer models did not predict this cooling.

So a reasonable person might say if it can’t predict this cooling trend why should I believe that it has the next 25 years correct? Fact is, I don’t. I still believe this is mostly driven by money. Algore has made millions on his fake carbon footprint nonsense.

I believe that we should use all means available to limit damage to the planet, but reasonable measures should be enough.

Afghan War:

Just a short note on Gen. McChrystel. There is a reason the good General was placed in the position he is in. That reason is trust. He was being trusted, by the President, to serve as commander in the Afghan conflict. Bottom line, the President, who has ZERO military experience, has to trust the man in charge. If he doesn’t, then he needs to fire him.

Talk about spineless, Harry Reid has settled on what may be a way to push single payer health care on us. His plan is to have a option in which that individual States can “opt” out of being part of the Government run option for health care.

Here’s the thing. Not all States were on board for the 55 MPH speed limit years ago. Many States were not on board for a Federal Drinking age either. Are both now the Norm? You bet your wallet they are. Do you remember or know how the Federal Government got States to give up their sovereignty over such matters?

Some call it coercion. That is to compel compliance with the suggestion of threat or force. Some States could not do without highway funds, so to keep the cow milk flowing the States allowed the intrusion into what has always their responsibility to be dictated to. You might even call it bribery. The same trick was used for the drinking age. Comply or suffer the loss of funds.

The same strategy is used for other Federal programs like education. Partly a difference is the Fed passing bills and programs without providing the funds, yet still make the States comply. You wonder why they would? That’s pretty simple, you see the States at one time had a voice in the Congress. No longer because the Senate is now nothing more than a 6 year term House of Representatives. They are elected by the people instead of by the State, as was the original concept of the Constitution.

Elected by the people forces them to ply for the favor of the people instead of protecting the States Rights, as was the original design of the Constitution. Which takes us back to the opening paragraph.

Should a “opt out” choice be part of this foolishness means that somewhere down the line it WILL, not might or maybe or an outside chance, but a sure a shot as there is death and taxes, that the Federal Government WILL force this on the States in no uncertain terms. Perhaps even to the point of withholding funds for any program so that the State will have no choice.

The Constitution has long since no longer been a barricade against infringement upon what has always been States Rights, and I can state with the certainty that the sun will rise tomorrow, any opt out will end up being shoved down the throat of the State down the road.

Next Topic

Although I don’t have a lot of love for NATO, (though I like them better than the U.N.), it would seem they have a better sense of what is needed in Afghanistan than our own President does. They find a great deal of merit with General McChrystal’s strategy. Perhaps it is part of being nothing but a politician, but saying that you want to postpone the advice of your head man on the ground until elections results are known, is beyond DUH!

When you are in combat you don’t care who’s in charge, who’s running things in the Country you are fighting in. All you care about is staying alive and defeating the enemy. Think about it, does eliminating these idiots really matter or change because guy A or guy B is now in charge? NO, the mission is still the same. The job in reality doesn’t change because of who runs the Country, unless he wants you out of the Country.

Can you say delay? This is nothing but a ploy to give the Administration a chance to avoid the really big decision.

Come on, I thought this was the “Good War”. I’m thinking you are looking for a way to cut and run from both fronts, Afghanistan and Iraq. What I see now is that we will cut and run from both before the end of 2010, saying we achieved our goals, our intentions and have done away the threat to the United States . It will be a lie, but the press and the far left will love it. Which will win back the far left loonies that he is losing in droves.

You said you could lead, many of us said you didn’t have the experience. It’s looking more and more like, in this case, the minority was correct.

Politics have entered the NFL it seems. It really is a sorry State of the Union when racist like Sharpton and Jackson can stand, with a straight face and call anything Rush Limbaugh has said as racially divisive. This becomes especially true since not one person, or organization can produce a single sound byte of the comments they accuse Rush of saying.

Now why is that? I would think that it is because there never were any such statements. A typical liberal tacit where you smear someone with false accusations, never have back up your claims. This way the media can play the charges over and over again and by the time it is discovered that the charges are false, people already believe them. Not only are they believed, the liberals give some half-assed “I might have been mistaken” but never retract the accusations nor do they apologize.

If, as I believe, these accusations are indeed false, I hope Rush sues the arse off these people. Don’t settle for a retraction or apology, demand both and large amounts of money. It can be based upon profits lost by getting cut out of the deal for buying the Rams.

Let It Snowe…

True to her liberal leanings, Snowe was the only Republican that voted to send the health care take over plan to the Senate floor. Keep in mind that Bangor ran a poll that well over 60% don’t want Government to take over the health care system.

Now if you think that this will cause Snowe, or for that matter Collins a problem for re-election, keep your wallets closed when you start getting pleas for money from the GOP to go against Snowe. She won the State last election with almost 75% of the vote. You aren’t going to get her out of office. If you don’t back her and run someone else, she will just do a Lieberman and run and win as an Independent.

You can take that to the bank.

Let ‘em Eat Cat Food...

Remember the years of lambasting the GOP received for trying to curtail increase in Social Security?

Why isn’t the media all up in arms when Democrats announce that next year there will be no cost of living increase?

They claim the cost of living doesn’t reflect the need for an increase. It didn’t during many of the last 20 years, but can you imagine if a Bush had not raised payments? What this does do however, is increase the amount of money Congress can steal to pay for things like socialized medicine. What they don’t pay back to those who put in, they can spend. Not that it matters that much, they do it anyway. But now they can claim they saved money on Social Security next year.

So the President try’s to buy you off with $250. Sounds a lot like his $13 a week tax rebate. Just as much, but less so, of a joke. Do you think people are really stupid enough to buy into that?

Justice Hospitalized After Fall From Stool...

If it had been a more conservative Judge the headline might even read bar stool. USSC Justice Ginsburg fell out of her seat after mixing a common cold medicine with a prescription sleep aid.

I am glad she is physically OK. But please, this is her idea of good judgment? No wonder she’s on the left.

“Et tu, Brute?“

If the IRS wasn’t enough trouble for Charlie Rangel and his forgotten earnings, his one-time aide and campaign manager, Vince Morgan is challenging him for his seat.

Unless there is actually a real investigation, which I doubt, and some real charges are brought against him, his seat is more than likely safe.

I don’t see much difference between the Parties anymore, save that the GOP seems to pay for their mistakes. The Dems tend to protect their own.

Behind Closed Doors…

Anyone else remember the last person that tried to take over the health care system behind closed doors? Wasn’t that the now Sec. of State? Yep it was.

I thought we were supposed to be able to watch the process in this so-called debate over the health care take over?

Don’t these people EVER learn anything from history? Just stuck on stupid I suppose.

The DNC and the President seemingly got caught taking some liberties in announcing that “even many Republicans are now backing his health care plan”. Well the fact is they back reform, not the take over of our system as he plans. Just another lie, just like this will reduce the cost, everyone wants it, we have to insure these 50 million people, (half of who are here illegally), etc.

And does it really matter if Doctors, nurses, hospitals or even insurance companies are in favor of his plan? No, because like the bailout money and the “stimulus” plan the majority of Americans are against it. Right now 50% of Americans are against what this Administration is offering, but that doesn’t seem to stop the President from lying about it and saying we all want it.

A study by PricewaterhouseCoopers finds that the cost of health coverage will increase by as much as $1,700 a year for a couple by the year 2013. If that isn’t bad enough in 10 years it would increase by $4,000 a year for couples. Now if you haven’t been paying attention to this blog you might have missed it when I explained that the start of medicare and medicade, ‘68 to ‘72, caused an increase of 400% in the cost of health care. All you have to do is look at history sometimes to find out what is going to happen when you do things. And we know what happens when you don’t learn from history.

Now I have been asked by some moderate and some left leaning friends, (I don’t talk politics to liberals I like to have conversations that make some sense), you complain enough about this, what would you do about it. Certainly what is going on now is unacceptable.

I always say, actually not, since the Government isn’t supposed to be in the health care business, but we can lay aside the Constitution for the moment. What can you do about the cost at the Government level?

First, before anything is done we need tort reform. A cap of those law suits like the kind that made John Edwards rich. By reform I mean a cap on awards and second the loser pays cost. Let’s see how many lawyers are going to jump in if they find they have to pony up 50% of cost for a stupid law suit.

Second, waste. I keep hearing how Congress is going to eliminate waste in the system. That alone will save millions if not billions. Fine, do that first. Show us you can cut down or cut out fraud and waste, that BTW would go a long way in cutting cost without a Government program of insurance.

Third, end the strangle hold the States have on commerce in regards to insurance. That’s a no brainer since it will create competition, which always lowers the price.

Lastly, don’t jump into a pile that you have no idea of what’s at the bottom of it. You people aren’t experts on the way things run, or about money or budgets for that matter. In the words of Th Jefferson “Delay is preferable to error.” take it slow. It’s not like we are going to lose the war or the Country is going to fall apart if you take your time.

Here’s the plan to follow. Take 2 States, Calif. and Tennessee as an example. I pick them because their health care system is in serious trouble, it is driving the States to the poor house. Set up a 3 year program there, identical to the one you want to shove down our throats. If at the end of 3 years they are no longer broke because of the health care program and you have saved money while insuring all, you might then have a viable argument.

And don’t come back with the “well it won’t work if we don’t do everyone”, because that argument just doesn’t fly. If you can’t do it in 2 States you can’t do it in 50, or 57 if you’re the President. I am not in favor of anything the Government does when it is not one of the enumerated powers in the Constitution. However I understand that such thinking died decades ago. Although I would like to see a return to it, it’s just not going to happen in my lifetime. So I am willing to ratchet back such things and meet somewhere away from total take over.

Pass tort reform and write laws to cut out waste, abuse and fraud. Show us the savings, then we can talk. I know you can’t do it because you’ve complained about it for decades and still those problems are there. They can’t even clean their own house let alone the house of health care.

Funny how quickly a censure can come for a member of the GOP for saying the President lies, but a Democrat calls the GOP the Party of killers.

Sen. Stevens comes under a large amount of fire for various legal miscues, yet then we have Charlie Rangel. Here is the man in charge of the House Ways & Means Committee, which in short means has a lot of influence in spending money, is facing investigations for back taxes to the amount of $1.3 million. This is not just a one time of short term story. This has been going on for a number of years.

Can you imagine how long YOU’D stay out of jail if you owed a third of that amount? I can tell you, 5 minutes.

With that in mind let’s look at what the House thinks of this. I would think, as I am sure you would, be outraged at such a powerful Committee member, who helps write tax laws, simply ignores them. You would think that to save face they would jump on him and censure him for his illegal actions, right? WRONG!

By a vote of 243 to 156, nothing was done. Not a stern warning, not a harsh word, not a damn thing happens

A representative from Rangel’s office on Wednesday blasted the resolution as a “highly partisan effort.”

“Let’s look at this resolution for what it really is — a highly partisan effort designed to undermine the important work in Congress on health care reform,” the representative, who declined to be named, told FOX News.

So what would make the censure vote against Wilson? Fair and just I am certain, to Democrats. This is what Democrats consider ‘open and ethical’. How’s that hope and change working for you?

Read My Lips:

Now I am pretty certain that the President said that 95% of us were getting a tax break if he became president. Funny how that works, it killed Bush I’s 2nd term. Will it do the same now? Number one, I don’t consider .01% a tax cut, and that’s what my “tax break” was all about. Next year W’s tax breaks expire. Democrats have in the past said their is NO chance that they will extend them, let alone make them a point of law forever.

Here it comes, not only that but; A new value-added tax (VAT) is “on the table” to help the U.S. address its fiscal liabilities, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Monday night. Let’s set aside, though I can’t figure out why we would, the cost of the socialization of health care which will cost more, much, much more, than $1.6 trillion

Pelosi, appearing on PBS’s “The Charlie Rose Show” asserted that “it’s fair to look at” the VAT as part of an overhaul of the nation’s tax code. Do you know what a VAT is? VAT is a tax on manufacturers at each stage of production on the amount of value an additional producer adds to a product. So the more “stages” the more the cost and thus the more revenue the Government gets OF YOUR MONEY.

We are talking the cost of everything, let me repeat that, EVERYTHING, will increase in cost. No new taxes? If the President doesn’t address this and quick we should see another across the Nation tea Party and 50 marches to DC to protest the tax, make that 2, tax increase being forced on us by the unrepresentative representatives, living in that ivory tower.

Ladies and Gentleman if such things as just this doesn’t scream tyranny to you. If you don’t see that the Tree of Liberty might need some “Miracle Grow”, you might want to crawl under a rock. Because you aren’t really paying attention.

Yes the GOP is hardly better than the Dems. But they are marginally. They are moving left much slower than the Dems. But many of the far left are becoming unhappy with the President’s lack of agenda because he wants to continue to run for President, instead of actually doing the job.

He has suffered a lot of drop in his popularity but he is getting a double slam from both sides. The right and many in the center think he is going to far and a big hit from the left for not going far enough. Seems his slam at McCain is haunting him. He did say that we can do it all at once, we can’t afford to just focus on just on issue.

Point, set and match to McCain.
