Reality Bites

The P-E is beginning to to find that running for Office is much different than actually holding Office, which is disturbing since he hasn’t even taken office yet.

The P-E talking to Stephanopoulos, about Gitmo, said ” It is more difficult than I think a lot of people realize and we are going to get it done but part of the challenge that you have is that you have a bunch of folks that have been detained, many of whom who may be very dangerous who have not been put on trial or have not gone through some adjudication. And some of the evidence against them may be tainted even though it’s true”

He went on to say;  “And so how to balance creating a process that adheres to rule of law, habeas corpus, basic principles of Anglo American legal system, by doing it in a way that doesn’t result in releasing people who are intent on blowing us up”

Which for the record shouldn’t bother Obama, since the left wants to paint him as the new Lincoln.  Habeas Corpus was not high on Lincoln’s need to protect list.  Either was the Constitution since the right to leave the Union was not listed as powers denied the Federal Government.

Seems Mr. Obama finds that a campaign pledge is somewhat, shall we say, flexible once elected to Office.  Not that all candidates don’t do the same thing, I was thinking, foolishly, the changing the way we did business in DC, change and hope, actually had some meaning.  Well, it does, but it means business as usual.

And for all the happy, happy, joy, joy about the P-E’s cabinet appointments finds Mr. Giethner’s failure to pay some taxes, to the tune of $34,000, (which for a large part of my life was more than I even made),.  So the Treasury Secretary hopeful, (BTW, the Dems have already said no problem), can’t manage his own books but is ok to manage the Country’s?  Can you explain how that works?  Please tell me a Republican would get the same fair shake.  OK, I really do know better.

So if you are keeping score so far we have, Hillary who’s husband takes money from all sorts of people who most of us wouldn’t even think of taking money from, but she is just all well and good to be confirmed.  Then Gov. Richardson drops out because he is under investigation and now Giethner can’t be bothered to pay taxes and hires illegals but it was all an honest mistake, no problem.  Remember all Newt did was write a book.

Are you people really buying this?

I’m getting ill already.

    hi chas

its going to be an interesting couple of months now that the anointed one is actually going to have to be a president rather than just play at being one

now that he has to make decisions, we will see how he really feels he has already gone back on many of his campaign pledges

tell me how you can appoint a man for the treasury department who didnt know he had to pay taxes and whats this with limitation i didnt know that happens i thought if you owed on taxes you had to pay them and they put lots of interest on it but i guess if you know the new president to be you can do whatever you please

thats just the tip of the iceberg imagine if that had been a republican looking to be approved

God help us is all i can say

keep up the good work here chas keep us informed
