Let them Know

by

Here is a letter I have written to both of my State Senators.  I do not expect a response or if one is sent it will be a canned response.   The Madam/Sir is because there is one of each but I sent them individually.  I will keep everyone advised.

Madam/Sir,

I cannot believe that the confirmation of the former Senator Tom Daschel is being presented as a almost given, according to various News sources.

This is a most outrageous position for ANY member of the Senate to take. I won’t even take the partisan look at this, even though I am certain that no GOP member would be given such a pass, but just from the legal standpoint this spits in the face of every tax payer in the United States.

Wonder why the approval rating of Congress is 9%?  Welcome to reality.  If this were my taxes after 3 years I would have already lost my house, car and my freedom.  Yet after approving one tax evader to head the Department that runs the IRS, you stand ready to approve another.

To exploit the fear of Americans that only Daschel can fix the so-called health care problems of 46 million, (most of who are illegal), is incomprehensible, even if it were true.  No honest individual can accomplish this?

It is things like this and foolish spending like the current stimulus package that keeps me from voting for more than a couple of Democrats.

So long as this business as usual continues so will your low approval ratings and my lack of support.

respectfully,
chas

We certainly live in interesting times. But our President is willing to admit when he makes a mistake.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama on Tuesday abruptly abandoned his nomination fight for Tom Daschle and a second major appointee who failed to pay all their taxes, telling NBC News: “I screwed up.”

“I’ve got to own up to my mistake. Ultimately, it’s important for this administration to send a message that there aren’t two sets of rules — you know, one for prominent people and one for ordinary folks who have to pay their taxes,” Obama said on NBC’s “Nightly News with Brian Williams.”

What the President did was foolish. He and his team KNEW that both Daschel and Geithner had tax problems and presented them for a post anyway. That is what he is sorry for, his choices didn’t glide in under the radar.

If he really believed what he said Geithner would be out of a job. Otherwise he is just paying lip services, and you buy it. I don’t.

Good news Daschel “withdrew” from consideration. You can write letter for me anytime.

That is indeed good news. Perhaps the “One” is able to make errors, though I doubt the press with portray it that way.

    Chas,

OOPS, I should have said Rep Rangle. I was trying to show the line of Treasury Secretary and Chairman of the Tax Committee.

Hope the Republican Senators get a backbone.

Guess James Carville was right this time around the Dems will have more problems than Reps.

But he was already dumping on Rush trying to give him a history lesson. Problem is it’s his history instead of reality.

Fact is although both parties are at least somewhat corrupt, the Dems tend to get a pass from not only the media, but from the GOP as well. They never learn and the GOP gets beat around the head and shoulders every time for lessor offenses.

Imagine any GOP getting such a pass on tax problems. In fact I’ll give you one that didn’t, I believe it was Sanchez and she was to be in Bush’s Cabinet until it was found that she had an illegal as a nanny and didn’t pay her SS Taxes.

Fair and balanced? I think not.

    Chas,

You forgot that great senator from NY, Charlie Rangle. He has problems also and he heads the committee that writes the tax laws! He and Geithner make a great pair.

And Jefferson who has lost his re-election bid, but I was concerned with the Cabinet picks this time around.
