Spend and Invest


Tuesday last, the President claimed; “The best way to bring our deficit down in the long run is…with a budget that leads to broad economic growth by moving from an era of borrow and spend to one where we save and invest,” This coming from a guy who is spending Trillions more than we have in a spending spree.

Let’s be  honest it is all pretty much the same old thing cal it what you want, tax and spend, borrow and spend or save and invest, it’s all still taking your money and wasting large partitions of it on projects that get elected representatives reelected.

What the Administration is doing is simply using a new word or words for the same old thing.  We are no longer paying taxes, we are investing.  We are no longer fighting a War on Terror, now we have a bunch of uncooperative people or some such nonsense.

Bottom line here is it is what it is and nothing is changed by simply changing what you call it.  A guy picked up on the battlefield shooting at our troops, is not just an unhappy person of the middle east, he is, by the rules of war, a person who is engaged in illegal war activities by not wearing a uniform and by law should be hung.

When you take my hard earned money and spend it on tattoo removal so gang members can have better self-esteem, I don’t care what YOU call it save and invest, to us it’s pork, tax and spend.  And since I am the boss of you, or in reality the American People are, then it is what we call it not you.

The Government is hijacking our rights, our money and our freedoms, just in the manner that Jefferson observed it has always been done.  In case you haven’t seen me post this before, (then where have you been?), here it is again; Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyrannyThomas Jefferson

Now even that is not enough, they want to hijack the language also.  OK, great the President reads a teleprompter better than the last President did, but the last President was willing to set his prompter aside and make gaffs.  This President not only makes gaffs, he does it with a teleprompter.  And they thought Bush was dumb…lol

We have to put out foot down.  Either Congress has to answer the logic of the people they serve and stop this inane spending or the people have to get a grip and take over.  I am the last to advocate revolution, in a violent form, so the only other choice I see is starting a 3rd Party that can run against these entrenched hacks that pass laws to prevent a third party from being competitive.  And if voting them out fails, and the laws work against the formation of a party of principle and belief in the Constitution, then this is why the 2nd Amendment was enacted.

When the Government fails to support the governed it is the responsibility of the governed to reject and change that form of government to that which best serves its purpose.  Failing that, we then become the ruled, instead of the consenting governed.  We are a self-governing system by Constitution.  When the government fails to fill that role, then it has outlived its usefulness.

I think we have long got to the “destructive of these ends” part of Jefferson’s Declaration.

    And now it’s time for us to embrace our “Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government.” I agree that we need a third party. From where will it come, and who shall lead it?
    Yes, who shall lead? I certainly am not qualified on so many levels, except on platform issues. It will I believe that it will be our children that will find those answers. Providing that we teach them and teach their children, then perhaps we can effect a change without a violent revolt.

    coming from a President that has spent more then George Washington to Geroge Bush, and everyone in between,
    if this wasnt so serious, its kind of laughable.
    I agree Sal. And no more earmarks either, wellllllllll….. Except for this time. My wallet hurts already.

    Chas, well said. However they do not spend…they invest. I guess it is the word of the week for the Dems.
    I’d rather make those choices myself. What is spent and what I invest for myself. They take and spend without considering what I want.
