One Lump or Two?

by

I have one reason for anyone that can attend a Tea Party this week.  Most of the reasons are self-evident.  Spending more than they take in, which in turns steals more money from those who have to give to those who do not.  From those who produce to those who refuse to do so. ” The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not”.   Thomas Jefferson

Let me give you a couple of “complaints” the left is tossing around as talking points.

First; These people during the last 8 years when George Bush and a Republican Congress were approving budget deficits were nowhere to be seen.  The tea parties are just Republican rallies and political party advertisements.

Let’s first correct the 8 year thing.  It’s only 6 because the last 2 years with some of the most spending came from a Democrat controlled Congress.  And Bush Vetoed more spending bills in the last 2 years than he did in the first 6.  The Liberal Left is trying to marginalize the right of Americans to protest the running of the Government that, by Constitution is ours to run.  No power is valid in the Federal Government save that which we permit.

Second; Obama’s stimulus package contains hundreds of millions of dollars in tax cuts for business.  Clearly, they aren’t angry about taxes, they’re just angry because they are Republicans and they lost.

And the $13 I am now getting a week I plan on spending on my new fully packed SUV.  I should have all the money saved up about the time I’ve been dead for 15 years or so.  The largest spending package in history, at a time when we haven’t 2 dimes to rub together is foolish at best.  This is nothing less than what LBJ did in the 60’s.  It cost him another term because we couldn’t afford to a fight a war and waste our money.  And don’t mistake most of the budget is a waste.  Your tax money for votes.

Third; They aren’t really grassroots events, but instead something consultants call “astro-turf.

This of course is nothing more than what liberals always do and that is try and discredit anything or one they don’t like.  The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive. Thomas Jefferson When the time comes that we can longer address our grievances with our Government, then our system of Government is longer based upon its roots.  That being we the people are a self-governing system.

Here is the real deal, we, as American’s, have the Constitutional Right to address our grievances with our Government.  The Tea Parties are exactly that.  Letting the Government know that we as a people have come to understand, and have understood, that we are spending ourselves broke.  “It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.” Thomas Jefferson.

Let us of the right and middle let the Government understand that we are tired of our money going to those who will not produce.  Let us stop paying for programs we have moral objections to.  “To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which He disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.” Thomas Jefferson I submit that we then are now under a tyrannical Government, and have been moving in that direction for almost 100 years.

If you can go, if you can show your support, I urge you to do so.  I also urge you to inform your Representitives that you support this effort if you cannot attend.  Don’t let the left get away with marginalizing you and your beliefs.  Remember; When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.  Thomas Jefferson

Another excellent piece Chas. For those who are “assaulted” and “accused” of ulterior motives, this provides a good source for response. Clearly stated and factual, one might consider committing to memory, or at least note cards to pass out, when the subject comes up of “why” and “who” did what, hum? Gini

One of the reasons the tea party movement began was in response to our representatives signing a massive spending bill that none of them even bothered to read before signing. Now those representatives are trying to minimize the citizens’ outrage at not being properly represented. If you ask me, that’s a pretty good example of “unrepresentative representation.”
