A Court of Politricks

by

I have to gag every time I read a Article about those under consideration for the USSC. “He, (The President), is expected to choose a woman, and perhaps someone who is Hispanic, but insists he will not be “weighed down” by demographics.”

Yet it seems to be his major consideration. I know the GOP picks people that believe the same way they do also, at least they try to. But considering that the GOP tries to elect people that have actually read the Constitution, that’s not a bad thing. No, that’s not partisian, that’s looking out for the Constitution and what is written there within.

What is the President looking for and what should he be looking for? Let’s look at both. This list comes from the AP.

“Gender” Can anyone tell me why this is important? Look the words …”shall not be infringed” don’t need a gender to understand. They pretty much stand on their own. The meaning shouldn’t change just between the genders.

“Philosophy.” Since the President believes the Founders gave women the right to kill innocent babies prior to their birth, (but don’t pour water on the face of killers), of course he will take someone who will not even look at Roe V. Wade. Someone today on the Greenroom blog ask how ex-VP Chaney couldn’t feel bad for the thousands of Troops killed and maimed in the War. I have to wonder why thousands matter more than a million? Approximately 1.2 million abortions are performed every year in this Country. I ask where is the Presidents concern for life?

“Age” This one I almost agree with. But only because most people get smarter with age. This seems not to apply with liberals. i.e. Ginsberg.

“Diversity” Once again, what’s the difference, unless of course you want to change the Constitution. All Americans have the rights under the Constitution, (hence the opening phrase “We the People of the United States”), if you are an American it matters not what sub group you believe you come from.

“Experience” Except that the President is not ruling out someone with almost no experience. Given many, including him, have no experience at their jobs, this doesn’t surprise me at all. Yo, Mr. President, call me. I’ve actually read the Constitution and the Constitutional Debates. Oh, that disqualifies me? 😥

“Compelling narrative” In other words BS beats substance or actual meaning of the Constitution. “If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance baffle them with….”

“Confirmability(sic) and cooperation” The only criteria ought to be understanding of the Constitution, experience in law in regard to the Constitution and be of good character. I know that it is an outdated belief, but I happen to feel that we would all be better served if the USSC would simply rule on and within the words in the Constitution.

He hit the jackpot with this selection…Hispanic, female, uberliberal….but she has a great story….BARF. He is using her as his ultra liberal pick so he can say on the next one that that #2 pick is less liberal…..

Doubt that. His next one will be as or more liberal. Remember he is touting that Bush nominated her first. When the story is her personal story, it’s to hide her Judicial history. Oh Yea and Nancy who? 😉

    Good Morning Chas,
We all know that he will pick someone that shares his views,
and we have no say over it, we can only hope he makes the same mistake that Bush 41 made.
Thank you for your service to our country.

Thank you Sal. Not much chance of that my friend, liberals don’t have to hide from what they believe because the MSM won’t pillar them.

chas, this is great stuff! Thank you for laying out your considerations. They are all spot on, and if only the Chosen One would choose so wisely, we could all be so lucky.

We will get what we get, but I wish we could have someone that has actually read the Constitution.

Chas, if only more Americans possessed your insight, wisdom and intelligence…but since they don’t we have a president who is more qualified to pick the next American Idol instead of the newest USSC member. Thank you for your service and for sharing your mind.

Carolyn, I only wish I was half as smart as you think I am. 😳
