It is really sad how many people think that the cash for clunkers program is such a great thing.  Has anyone stopped to consider that it is your money that is giving these people that can’t actually afford a new car the power to buy one?  Did you learn nothing after the housing market crash?

So let’s repeat the same mistake and take money from people that actually earn it and give it to people who don’t earn enough so that they can have a new car, and will more than likely not be able to pay for it down the road.  Why?  Because if they could have afforded a new car they could have bought one month’s ago.  They, (car makers) were almost giving them away for the last 2 years.

And let’s be real honest about this, this money isn’t going to you, it’s a your money going to private industry .  The so called cash for clunkers is nothing more than your tax dollars going to the, (in some cases), already Government owned Auto industry.  Has the bailout done anything other than take even more cash and shuffle it to someone else?  Not really.

What does this cash for clunkers really tell us?  That the Federal Government can’t even get close to figuring out what is the secret of any program they propose.  They were off on the actual cost of the program by at least $2billion dollars.  This isn’t chicken feed people.  This is like trying plan on building a porch and estimating the cost at $1,000 dollars and finding it will cost   $3,000.  This while you are already $100,000 in debt and really don’t have a way to pay for it.

A Brew-HA-HA

The easy and obvious often gets overlooked when things like the Gatesgate goes on.  First I noticed that the President says “This isn’t a summit, it’s just 3 guys sitting down having a beer.”  So I wonder what that makes the VP Joe Biden since he was also there.  Is he not a guy?

I also noticed that in all the different media shots I saw, the only person that actually took a drink of his beer was the acting stupidly Police Sergeant.  All the others just reached for their nuts.  😉

Still Pitching Healthscare

Go back and read how the clunkers plan worked.  Oh yea, sure it was popular because people got your money, to help buy a new car, but look how badly it was managed.  The Congress was off by what 300%?  One billion would be enough they thought, but now they want, no NEED, to add $2 billion more.

Ratchet that up to trillions and there is your healthcare proposal being offered up by the same people that can’t run Social Security.  They can’t run Social Security, which is nothing more than a savings account.  They can’t run Medicare without it going broke or running in the red.  Same applies for Medicaid.  And let’s not forget Amtrak, which has NEVER run in the black since day one.  The Postal Service isn’t much better.  The only reason they are still in business is because we prop them up with our tax dollars.

Are there Terrorist Abound?

Seems after so many months in office Homeland Security chief Napalitano finally figures out that there are actually people out there that want to kill us by methods most civilized people would consider, let’s just say not nice, given the tone of this Administration.

So we may see that we will no longer have just “man-caused disasters” but what they really are terrorist attacks.

It only took the Chief 5 months to figure that out  I’m not sure her boss gets it yet.

Prayers for Health.

I have no personal use for Senator Dodd, but I certain hope he will recover from his bout with Cancer.  I wish him to have the same healthcare insurance that he wants to inflict on us would be his provider.  If it works for him, I might take a closer look at the proposal.

Knowing that this will not be the case, I just wish him well.  Which is more than the majority of us will be able to hope for if the Democrats plan does pass.

Chas…am catching up, on this day with no sunshine, here in Columbus. A fine read, yet again. Cash for clunkers. Hummm…well, until they run out of money, of course, and those who cannot “afford” a new car, even with the cash for clunkers, haven’t been able to get a loan for the “new vehicle” at all. Have had a couple turned down already, where I work…..a bad plan, of course, and costly and badly run, but no surprise there at all.
A Brew ha ha, for sure!!! Bwaaaaaahahahahaha! and that’s my only comment on that subject for sure! Geezzzzzz…
Shshshshs shush! Now, you are going to “hurt their feelings” Chas, reminding them they are INCOMPETENT to run ANYTHING at all. THEY think they have done just fine, and the citizen hasn’t informed them otherwise, as I see Harry R, and Nancy P, and Waxman, and and and, are still there, hum? They consider themselves iconic for sure, not MORONIC, hum? Yep….I just think I am absolutely right on this one. Yes, I do. lol ha ha!
    Napalitano??? ❓ ❗ 😈 {that abt covers it, I think?}
Unlike some, we do not wish those we disagree with harm Chas, so of course, we hope the health issues for anyone, whether “iconic” or not, are successfully overcome. But, of course, we do believe that God’s hand is in it all, so He will decide, hum?
Another great read Chas!!! lol Thanks again, for your thought provoking “view of it all”… 🙂

And let’s not forget to thank the brave men and women who so valiantly fight for our freedoms and liberties, everyday, everywhere, no matter what tyrant commands them. God Bless them all.

Yes, let’s support Government Motors and buy everyone a new car. Let’s invite those we insult for a beer rather than an apology. Let’s overhaul exceptional health care so that it is no longer exceptional, but a feather in Robin-Hood’s cap. Let’s ignore terrorism in favor of acknowledging man-caused disasters, both of which amount to innocent dead Americans. Let’s support our leader’s Czars, to our bitter end. Let’s continue to support a narcissistic tyrannical administration.

Keep up the good fight, chas.

And let’s not forget that the taxes of almost every single American, during a time of economic strife, will be raised in 2010. Let’s not also forget that Geithner said more increases on the middle class are on the table. The WH can spin that anyway they’d care to try, but I’m certain that Trubo Tax Tommy knows exactly what his is saying.

Another fine piece Chas…to Sen. Dodd, I would add Sen Ted “The Driver” Kennedy…I do not agree with their politics but wish them well and would like their opinion if they were enrolled in the new Obamacare.

National Healthcare, obviously ought not be done. We’ve been there twice already and it’s been a money pit with no bottom.

    Great post Chas,

Here in the real world—many cannot even afford a clunker. Get it right Washington or GET OUT. And don’t let the door hit you on the way out. We will remember what you have done.

    Chas,

Always a great point of view! We are in a serious state of “throw money at it” and it makes my stomach churn to think that my grand children and great grand children are going to be the ones stuck with this problem.

Thanks Jim. And I really enjoyed your last post.
