Now’s The Time…

The President, despite strong opposition to his featured presentation, health care, is trying to push Congress into action to “finish the job”, as he puts it.  The level of health care hasn’t changed, or the number without health care hasn’t changed in 3 decades or more.  Why is it such a crisis today?  Why can’t the people see the final bill that is being voted on 72 hours in advance of the vote as was promised?

Thus far the vote is a bit iffy at best.  Many Democrats, coming from fairly moderate districts are rightfully worried about their seats, many because they know their people aren’t in line with this take over of the health care system.  Since when is it OK for the Federal Government to not only go way beyond the Constitution but to ignore the 80+% of the population that thinks their health care is just fine?

When does it become tyranny to mandate participation in a health care system to the point of levying a fine or jail time if they don’t wish to participate?  Don’t you think it’s bad enough that they force you, unconstitutionally force you to participate in a retirement program that only gives you a return of 1% of your donation?

And what about this “vote for it now and we’ll fix it later”?  Does the President think we are really that stupid?  Would you sign for a loan, (since that is what will be paying for this), without knowing the price?  Sign up for this now and we’ll work out the details later.  I promise you’ll like it.

Do you know so of the provisions of this bill?  Let’s try some of them on for size.

• Sec. 202 (p. 91-92) of the bill requires you to enroll in a “qualified plan.” If you get your insurance at work, your employer will have a “grace period” to switch you to a “qualified plan,” meaning a plan designed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. If you buy your own insurance, there’s no grace period. You’ll have to enroll in a qualified plan as soon as any term in your contract changes, such as the co-pay, deductible or benefit.

Who decides what a qualified plan?  As you see later they haven’t even decided what a “qualified plan” is.  But don’t worry, “we promise you will like it”.

• Sec. 59b (pp. 297-299) says that when you file your taxes, you must include proof that you are in a qualified plan. If not, you will be fined thousands of dollars. Illegal immigrants are exempt from this requirement.

Did you know that the Government expects to collect millions in fines to off-set the cost of the program, but it will do little in that regard.  The $1.2 trillion is a debt we can ill afford and is more than likely, given past experience, about one-third what the actual cost will be.

• Sec. 303 (pp. 167-168) makes it clear that, although the “qualified plan” is not yet designed, it will be of the “one size fits all” variety. The bill claims to offer choice—basic, enhanced and premium levels—but the benefits are the same. Only the co-pays and deductibles differ. You will have to enroll in the same plan, whether the government is paying for it or you and your employer are footing the bill.

Is there ANY “one size fit all” plans do you know works in any free market system?  I know my readers and I also know they are smart enough to know the answer to that. Read  this WSJ Article and see more of what this bill portends to impose upon the “free” people of America.

Th. Jefferson said “Delay is preferable to error”.  The ONLY reason for haste is to sneak the actual contents of the bill  pass the unsuspecting and trusting people of the United States.   Tyranny IS NOT a reasonable response to a problem.

If this passes we will see, in our lifetime a tyrannical expansion of Government power that we will most certainly regret for decades to come.  And then it will be over because we, as a Nation, will be no more.

“Rebellion to Tyranny is Obedience to God”

Morning Chas, we can only hope, it doesnt get through the Senate,
    Great post Chas.
We have to hope they are more concerned with their seats than the House was.

Let’s pray it doesn’t pass. My husband is Scottish. Not sure if I told you what happened this summer with my mother in law. I only wrote one thing and it was about her. shaws place This I sent everywhere. To my congressman. To the President. I got a form email from Axelrod that told me to read about the health care bill before I spread rumors. But it was all true in regards to the NHS in Scotland and the death of my mother in law. My writing is certainly not up to your standards but I had to get it out. I hoped if anyone searched on health care my situation could change one persons attitude toward it.

    Thanks Chas. Another good article.
Ms Gwen, my only standard of writing is truth and logic. On the other hand Axelrod didn’t even know, and either does Congress, know what this bill actually says and demands. It is scary that the Constitution which gives us right is now being ignored and used to beat us about the head and shoulders.

I fear for us as a Nations.
