Meanderings. 2-18-10

Recently heard of a poll that says only 6% of Americans believe that this so-called stimulus package has actually saved or created jobs.

Now I heard Gov. Kane today saying the job losses were at a sum zero for last month.  While yesterday VP Biden was going on about cutting down the job losses to only 35,000 last month.  When confronted with that statement Gov. Kane replied, the math is right there.

I guess that is why the number of believers is only at 6%.  If you have 15 people out there all giving out different numbers. most Americans are smart enough to know something is foul in Denmark.

Here is a real good reason to disbelieve not only what the left tells you, but the right.  But I believe that the left takes this as gospel.  This from Maher:

“But what the Democrats never understand is that Americans don’t really care what position you take, just stick with one. Just be strong. They’re not bright enough to really understand the issues. But like an animal, they can sort of sense strength or weakness. They can smell it on you.”

Any questions on how smart politicians think you, or should I say, “We The People” are?

*I guess 2010 will answer that question. ❓

Chas 🙂 🙂 I wonder when Maher will run for for a senate seat? OMG…a man who would like to be relevant, but is not. Occasionally, however, he does say something incredibly profound, hum? Now, who is really stupid, I wonder? We ‘the people’ or Maher, the resident ‘idiot’.

    Good Morning Chas,
That 6% they are talking about,
must be the people in this Administration,
because thats the only people that said it worked.
    Pretty much my friend.

They live on the island of Denial—but the water is fast rising on all sides.
And they have no rudder or paddle.

It is the disorganized and frantic attempts to get some good news out there and since they are all lying, there is no way to craft a united message.
I think the reality is, they simply have no idea what-so-ever.

Some of these politicians need math lessons, seriously. A high grade in any math should be a requirement before they run for office. Even then they should still do a math placement test. Just my two cents worth. Now if we convert that to euros how much would that be?
Given the falling rate of the Euro I think we should avoid that too….lol

Yes, politicians change their stories. They pander, it’s what they do.

To play as Maher’s (Devil’s) advocate he does have a point… albeit in a somewhat skewed way. He said: “They’re not bright enough to really understand the issues. But like an animal, they can sort of sense strength or weakness. They can smell it on you.”

I think that he’s actually saying that we aren’t bright enough to take the effort to understand the issues. You have to admit that most Americans don’t dig into the issues to find out what is actually going on. Not having interest enough in the future of the country to take the time to understand is really, not bright.
While you are correct, many do not fully understand issues, the comparison is skewed because many people understand basic good and evil on a gut level. Like the stimulus that we didn’t want but they passed anyway. Why? According to them we just weren’t smart enough to understand how important it was.

My last reading of the Constitution says they represent us, not inform us as to what we need and don’t need.

Chas, Maher is right and our politicians do not stick with one story…The administration said the Stimulus bill created thousands, hundred of thousands, and even millions of jobs. PICK ONE!!!
And be pinned down to something that can be proven? You are joking right? 😆

It’s insulting how stupid politicians think we are.
    Worse, we accept the notion.
