People who just don’t get it.

by

I think that way too many people, mostly on the left, just don’t get things very well,  Budgets are one thing and the TEA Party is another.  The one thing they get least of all is the Constitution.

Take for example one of my favorite useful idiots E.J. Dionne who rants that the TEA Party is forcing the Government and the conversation on the budget to steal Grandma’s cat food, thus starving her.  Making people work until age 69 is unforgivable and of course Wall Street is the real problem.

He says this; “In his State of the Union address, Obama made a good case that budget cutting is too small an agenda and that this is also a time for more government — yes, more government — in areas that would expand opportunities and strengthen the economy.

Only a useful idiot would think that going bankrupt is the answer to anything.

Another member of the U.I. Club is Paul Krugman who verifies his useful idiot support by falsely accusing Gov. Walker of trying to bust the Union in WI.  He says; “What Mr. Walker and his backers are trying to do is to make Wisconsin — and eventually, America — less of a functioning democracy and more of a third-world-style oligarchy.”

Obviously Mr Krugman has conveniently forgotten that Gov. Walker was elected by the people based mostly by the fact that this is exactly what he would do once in office.  If some Party is attempting to forestall the Democratic process it would be the Democrats who fled the State in order  to prevent the people’s will from being exercised in the State House by denying a quorum so that a vote can be cast.

This is how you can spot the useful idiots.   They continue to want to paint the Government as a Democracy, (though it is in truth a Republic), until the vote doesn’t go their way.  Then of course it becomes a different story.  Take his closing remark; “So will the attack on unions succeed? I don’t know. But anyone who cares about retaining government of the people by the people should hope that it doesn’t.

See what I mean?  The people voted for this very agenda but in doing so they are killing the Democracy.  I will skip over the whole thing about either of these gentlemen wishing the Government to disregard the Constitution and it’s limits on the powers of Congress.

The budget isn’t the actual problem.  I know that sounds wrong but really it isn’t.  The real problem is the disregard of the Constitution.  The budget is merely a result of the bigger problem.  I would say that 85 to 90% of what the Federal Government does is either completely unconstitutional and/or violates the 10th Amendment.

The very things that are the direct cause of budget problems at BOTH the Federal and State levels are mostly caused by ignoring the Constitution.  The Federal Government and it’s issuing its unfunded mandates forcing States to pay for medical coverage, while only providing part of the payment is just plain wrong.  And the Federal Government has no business in the Medical Field in the first place.

This is what the TEA Party should be all about.  Beat back the excess of Government.  The food police, the smoking police, the drinking police, the seat belt police and the hundreds of other special interest “can’t have fun or personal responsibility” crowd so the Nanny State can endure and expand.

Our country is now taking so steady a course as to show by what road it will pass to destruction, to wit: by consolidation of power first, and then corruption, its necessary consequence. Th Jefferson

  1. Kenneth Moyes Says:

In order to know just how much we have strayed from the Consitution and what we need to do to bring bank limited government with the union of states as the masters of that government, we need to look at how the Constitution has been abused, marginalized, and minimized over the past 100 years.

Take a look at http://www.republicof1789.com – this is a book-blog that lays out what has gone wrong, why it has gone wrong, and what we need to do to fix it.

Thank you Mr. Moyers. Sorry it took so long to see your reply, but you can bet I will be reading it.

      Thanks for reading.

Another great post Chas. I totally agree with all that you said and most of all the part about the Constitution. I fear that in the worst case senario, if there becomes a new world order, the constitution’s greatness will be lost. We as a free people, with liberty and justice for all, will no longer be.
